Designing for small lots or tight site constraints is often a challenge — but with the right approach, it becomes a unique opportunity to create homes that feel dynamic, well-integrated, and full of design interest. Our Tingalpa project is a perfect example of this.
The original home was small, and although renovated internally, was wanting for sheer floor area for this growing family. However, priority went to retaining yard space wherever possible. Therefore the solution was to add a second storey to the home, on top of the solid double-brick bones of the existing ground floor level. Design by us, and Built by Redkem Constructions (who is also the homeowner), this home is a great testament to going up, to get more space! Not only did the project attract strong interest from the neighbourhood for its unique design, but also attracted a Housing Industry Australia award. |
