This Coorparoo residence is a beautiful example of how the right design approach can honour a home’s past while reimagining its future. What began as a solid full-brick home with a dated appearance has now been completely refreshed — both inside and out — into a stylish, welcoming, and highly functional space.

With a thoughtful exterior update, a revived palette, and a transformed backyard retreat, this project proves that even the most traditional homes can be given a new lease on life — while still retaining their soul.

EXTERIOR TRANSFORMATION

The original full-brick façade was structurally solid but visually heavy. By lightening the exterior with a crisp white render and simplified detailing, we gave the home a brighter, fresher appearance that now feels elegant and timeless. The updated façade balances clean lines with classic cues, giving the home renewed street appeal without feeling disconnected from its original form.

New landscaping elements and subtle material shifts also helped to frame the entry and improve the overall approach to the home, creating a much warmer and more inviting first impression.

BACKYARD RETREAT

Previously just a plain grassy area, the backyard was an underutilised blank canvas. With smart planning and thoughtful design, we’ve transformed it into a multi-functional outdoor living zone — perfect for entertaining, unwinding, and making the most of Queensland’s climate. A newly designed pool becomes the central feature, surrounded by an open, flowing layout that encourages family connection and enhances the indoor–outdoor experience.
